In the face of many challenges, including resource constraints, climate change, and food security, a grand industry event has brought together the world's top wisdom on schedule. On November 9th, local time, the 2025 Hannover International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, organized by the German Agricultural Association, opened at the Hannover Exhibition Center in Germany.
As the world's largest and most influential exhibition in the agricultural machinery sector, it not only demonstrates the latest products but also showcases a vision for the future of agricultural production, serving as a hub for global innovation, exchange, and cooperation. The main theme of this year's event is "Touch Smart Efficiency," focusing on displaying the achievements of innovative technology regarding agricultural machinery, digital technology, and smart agriculture.

This year's exhibition has attracted registered visitors from more than 140 countries around the world, covering an area of 440,000 square meters. It attracted about 2,800 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions, with 68.5% of exhibitors from outside Germany. European manufacturers still occupy a dominant position, but the power of the Asian supply chain increased significantly. Industry giants, such as John Deere, CNHEN, and AGCO, were all there. The seven-day exhibition brought intelligentization, greening, and the international competitive landscape to the attention of the public once again.

Nearly 300 Chinese companies participated, ranking third among all participating countries. The exhibitors included leading Chinese agricultural machinery companies such as Weichai Lovol and Zoomlion, innovative medium and small enterprises like Shanghai Lianshi, showcasing the latest achievements of China in the field of intelligentization, greening, and high-end manufacturing.

One of the greatest changes within this year's exhibition was that exhibitors didn't compete on size, power, or feed rate any longer but on how to integrate intelligent technologies into their products. An S7-900 combine harvester drew visitors' attention at the 10,000-square-meter booth of John Deere. The image acquisition system installed above the cab uploads the image data of crops during the harvesting process. Then it automatically adjusts parameters like the operating speed, height of header, and feed rate after calculating and identifying crop growth and yield to enhance operational efficiency and reduce losses.
German agricultural machinery firm CLAAS leveraged its home-field advantage and launched seven products, including tractors, harvesters, and forage equipment. The AXION 9 series tractors with intelligent driving capabilities are available in wheeled and tracked variants. They have very good traction with minimal damage to the soil due to compaction. The new cab has a spacious interior of 3 cubic meters with excellent sound insulation, while the front section of the rotating seat offers heating, ventilation, and massage functions. In addition to these comfort features, new intelligent driving features have been installed in the AXION 9 series tractors; conditional driverless operation is currently possible, whereby the driver remains in the cab while the tractor does the work itself.

The 2025 Hannover AgroMachinery Exhibition, lasting for seven days, was not only a festival of technology and products but also an industry concept revolution and the guide for the direction in which the future should move. It comprehensively showcases the innovative vitality and development potential of agricultural technology and provides clear guidance for the transformation and development of global agriculture. The innovative achievements will continue to emerge in the process of exhibition development, along with increased cooperation opportunities and greater development consensus.

This year's exhibition will run until the 15th, displaying products of the whole industry chain, ranging from plant protection machinery, drones, tractors, and automation systems to combine harvesters and digital management tools for agriculture. It is expected to attract 430,000 visitors.
