Product Performance
PO-511 Reverse Osmosis Cleaner is an alkaline composite liquid agent, suitable for the chemical cleaning of CA (Cellulose Acetate) and TFC (Thin-Film Composite) series reverse osmosis membrane elements. It causes no damage to reverse osmosis membranes and has strong penetrating and dissolving effects on sludge, organic matter, oil, microorganisms, viscous substances, and non-acid-soluble contaminants. Moreover, it does not cause secondary precipitation pollution during the cleaning process.
Usage Method of Reverse Osmosis Cleaner
Dosing Point
The Reverse Osmosis cleaning agent should be used in conjunction with the membrane cleaning equipment provided by the membrane system manufacturer. If such equipment is not available, please contact Puniao’s technical engineers to manufacture or obtain a membrane cleaning device.
Dosing Quantity
The technical engineers of Puniao Company will determine the optimal dosage based on the actual conditions of your system. Usually, the dosage accounts for 2–5% of the total liquid volume of the entire cleaning system. The entire system includes the cleaning tank, connecting pipes, filters, pressure vessels, and membranes.
Dilution
The Reverse Osmosis cleaning agent must be diluted in the cleaning tank before entering the membrane system. It is recommended to dilute it to a mass concentration of 2% (adjust the pH of the alkaline cleaning agent to 10–11). That is, prepare the cleaning solution by mixing 1 kg of the cleaning agent with 49 kg of high-quality RO product water.
Cleaning Instructions of Reverse Osmosis Cleaner
- Check the Cleaning Circuit Connection: Ensure the cleaning tank, pipelines, and security filter are properly connected. Clean them with demineralized water, and do this at least twice. If necessary, install a new filter element in the security filter. During cleaning, circulate the prepared cleaning solution at low pressure and high flow rate on the concentrate side of the membrane. At this time, the membrane elements remain installed in the pressure vessel.
- Fill half of the cleaning tank with RO product water or demineralized water. Slowly pour the pre-calculated amount of cleaning agent into the cleaning tank and mix evenly. Control the temperature of the cleaning solution to be around 30 °C.
- Start the cleaning pump according to the cleaning circuit to begin cleaning. The cleaning solution flowing out of the RO membrane should be discharged from the system, and the volume should be about 10–20% of the cleaning tank’s volume. The cleaning flow rate and velocity should follow the recommendations of the membrane manufacturer or system supplier. The cleaning time depends on the degree of contamination, generally 8–12 hours.
