Purpose
Lactose fermentation test for coliform bacteria in drugs.
Inspection principle
Peptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources to meet the growth requirements of bacteria. Cow bile salt can inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria. Lactose is a sugar that can be fermented by coliform bacteria. Bromocresol purple is a pH indicator. It appears yellow in acidic conditions and purple in alkaline ones.
Usage
Weigh 35 grams of this product, add it to 1000mL of distilled water, heat and boil to dissolve, then aliquot into test tubes with inverted fermentation tubes, and sterilize at 115℃ under high pressure for 20 minutes for later use.
Quality control
Prepare the culture medium according to the label usage, inoculate the following quality control strains, and place it in aerobic culture at 36±1℃ for 24±2 hours.
