Equipped with a composite pH electrode and other accessories, it intelligently identifies endpoints, supports multiple measurement modes, and temperature compensation. The instrument can perform 1-3 point pH electrode calibration, automatically recognize standard buffer solutions, and supports data storage and retrieval. Its technical parameters include 0.01% accuracy, a pH measurement range of (-2.00~18.00) mV, and a measurement range of (-1999~1999) mV.
pH measurement is widely used in universities, environmental protection, medicine, food, sanitation, geology, metallurgy, marine and other fields. Common samples include acid rain, surface water, industrial wastewater, drinking water, beverages, daily chemical products and textiles. Since hydrogen ion activity is usually low, directly expressing it as concentration is inconvenient; therefore, pH value is used to characterize the acidity or alkalinity of aqueous solutions.
pH is defined as the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion activity, i.e.: pH = -lg[H+]. A commonly used glass pH electrode is a hydrogen ion selective electrode sensitive to H+. The core component of pH measurement is the electrode system, consisting of an indicator electrode (such as a glass electrode) and a reference electrode.
When the H+ activity (i.e., pH value) in a solution changes, the potential difference between the pH glass electrode and the reference electrode changes accordingly. By measuring this potential difference with a pH meter, the pH value of the solution can be calculated.
